Led by the amazing Carol Pemberton this internationally renowned acapella female group who have appeared at the Proms, performed for nelson Mandela and worked with Lady Smith Black Mambazo as well as Ray Charles will present Spiritual Journey written and arranged by Ken Burton.  This work is a suite of songs mapping the journey of ‘The Spirituals' starting with their roots in Africa and their journey through to America.  The concert will also include a mixture of Gospel, Jazz, traditional African and Caribbean songs.  This is Black music performed to the highest standard, not to be missed.

I was a steward at Black Voices recent concert at Barnhill, Stamford.  I was so enchanted to hear music of the quality and ‘special-ness' that I heard from Black Voices it was a fantastic evening.  The music and skill was some of the best I've heard (apart from Freddie Mercury!)  Good luck for the future - not that you need it, but thanks for an amazing evening!

Concert du 22 mars 2007 au festival "Un week-end avec Elles" à Albi :

"Vraiment extraordinaire ce concert ! Et quel handicap de ne pas parler anglais, j'aurais eu tant à leur dire…Tout le monde a ete ravi de la soirée, je tenais à ce que vous le sachiez. Les  Black-Voices ont traverse la planete avec pas moins de  150 tournées internationales et se sont produites en concert devant des personnalites telles que Nelson Mandela, le pape Jean-Paul 2, Lady Di, la famille royale D'Angleterre, le sommet du G8 et differents ministres et chefs d'Etats. Elles animent une emission sur la musique A Cappela à la BBC et ont été pressenties par  Steven  Spielberg pour la musique d'un de ses films. Ces 5 extraordinaires voix noires a capella nous donnent à entendre un répertoire ouvert à des styles variés… Gospel, chants traditionnels africains, blues, reggae, chants influencés par leurs multiples voyages et inspirés par la tradition musicale de la communauté noire à travers le monde et la lutte contre l'esclavage. The Black Voices set off all around the world with more than 150 international tours and sang for Nelson Mandela and other african heads of states, summit of G8, Pope John Paul II, Lady Di, the Royal family etc… They host a series about a capella music on BBC and were approached by Steven Spielberg for the music of one of his films. These 5 amazing a capella voices sing a varied repertoire of gospel, traditional african songs, blues, reggae and songs inspired from their numerous travels, the african community throughout the world and the struggle against slavery.
